Today has been incredibly productive. First Drafts of scripts were due, excerpts were performed, Marketing started, social media was created, we launched this new website and it's only our first full day! Our first rough drafts of scripts were due this morning and many of us stayed up til the wee hours of the morning finishing them. But lack of sleep did not slow us down. We began the day with a Marketing meeting and got down to business. We worked on improving our internet and social media presence.
We then transitioned into playwriting mode and presented our ideas for our plays to our Artistic Director, Timothy X. Troy. He gave us individual notes and revisions began.
After a little bit of revising, we had the opportunity to perform 20 lines from our plays for everyone. Jacque Troy, our Literary Manager, gave us notes and some direction.
Then, after even more writing, our last session of the day was visited by Alan Kopischke. He helped steer us in the right direction on how and where to market our productions. We broke into small groups to accomplish tasks such as reaching out to schools, writing press releases, preparing outreach emails, specifying marketing techniques, and perfecting our mission statement. We are continuing to work on our drafts in order to prepare for our company wide power read of all the plays in the morning.
And now for something completely different...
We have decided on a format for the blog! We will be updating twice a day, once after lunch and once at the end of the day. Our after lunch bloggers will be members of the company sharing their personal experiences from the program. Our late night updates will be written by the blogging team and will go through the collective experiences of the company and the activities we participated in during the day. We hope you enjoy what's to come. We know we will!
